WHO 2018-2019 Cooperation Project — “The Best Practice of Integrated Eldercare Services with Medical Care in China”

In order to summarize and promote good experience and practice of integrated eldercare services with medical care for further and closer cooperation and exchange, in 2019, the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China (NHC) and World Health Organization (WHO) jointly launched the 2018-2019 cooperation project, “The Best Practice of Integrated Eldercare Services with Medical Care in China”, which was implemented by the Health Human Resources Development Center of the NHC. In June 2019, the NHC issued an announcement to collect and advertise typical cases of integrated eldercare services with medical care. 633 cases were reported and collected from across China, 199 of which were selected by experts as typical cases of integrated eldercare services with medical care upon review and on-site visit, such as the case of “The Health Commission of Pinggu District, Beijing: Linkage between Eldercare Services and Medical Care, Recreation for the Elderly and Good Government with Harmonious People’s Live”. Such cases were compiled into Typical Cases of Integrated Eldercare Services with Medical Care which is used to summarize and promote China’s experience in integrated eldercare services with medical care.
